SABBATH RESTING

Where do I find time? Evening to evening is the magical time. It’s devoted to resting & ordered by God so it’s is sacred. Sunday is sacred or a holy day (52 a year), but it is no Sabbath. We celebrate the resurrection & the ascension of our Savior or The Fall & Rise of Jesus God/Man on earth on the 1st day of each week. God rested on Friday night to Saturday night & so should we, as far as possible.
Jesus said he is the Lord of the Sabbath (Saturday) so; we don’t have to be fanatical about the day anymore. This is when I listen to Christian music, I journal my thoughts more, I prepare & maybe post something on my websites. I sing, thank & proclaim God, because I have the time. I also have to cook, maybe do the laundry or pick up some spills or other emergencies. Sometimes I have to go shopping or work in the yard a little or even work half a day, but Friday night belongs to God, no partying for me. I can take some time on Sunday after Church to be with God again. I almost have two Sabbaths, but none are completely restful, but that how I catch up on my religious reading & writing & nap taking.
Saturday night is back to the normal world & its fun night, but nothing too raucous for me. Monday through Friday I look forward to Saturday. I work a little harder on Friday morning & afternoon, pay my bills, go shopping, check the oil in my car, make sure I have clean clothes for Sunday church & get ready to shutdown when the sun starts to dim & lower itself to the horizon a little at a time.
It really becomes habit forming. It assures me that I’m giving Jesus some quality time at least once a week. It assures my heart, brain & body that we’ll be at half throttle with time out for drifting at least once a week. It’s so great to divide the week into seven periods, when one is a rest day. You’ll just have to try it for forty days & forty nights & tell me what you think.
I love the Sabbath. I love Jesus.
John: I’ll see you Friday night, until Saturday night. Are you doing anything during that time Jesus?
Jesus: No, it’s my rest day. I mainly heal, teach or listen to others teach. I have plenty of time for you. Let’s make it a permanent date.
John: It’s a date!

ANGER THE GIANT (10/15/11)
I must defeat it. It dares to challenge my God’s right my emotions & actions. This monster must die. Pick five smooth stones to cut through the air. One is called: Death to Self (2) Salve of Christ (3) Gifts of the Spirit (4) Do unto others & (5) Love.
Love has sunk into the forehead of the giant & he falls softly. I’m going to finish him off & cut off his head with his own sword. His sword is called, “Words Can Kill”. I lift up his detached head & it disappears. His head is back on his shoulders! He gets up & attacks me again & again.
Why won’t you die? Stay down! Let me silence you forever. Go pick on someone else. Here we go again.
LIFT ME HIGHER (10/15/11)
Come to me Lord Jesus from the depths of burning darkness, from loneliness & despair…from suffering & confusion.
Lead me to the Water of Life & make me drink. Take my hand & make me eat at the Tree of Life. So shall I ever live with you as a son with his Father in comfort, security & purity.

UNIVERSAL CHURCH (10/15/11)
The Catholic edifice is a Ritual Temple, built on the Jewish foundation & the bloody sacrifice of Jesus. Jesus & his Apostles sacrificed, taught & healed at the Temple in Jerusalem.
The Protestant edifice is a Teaching Synagogue, built on the Jewish foundation & the bloody sacrifice of Jesus. Jesus & his Apostles attended, taught & healed there.
Just as the Nation of God was split into Judah & Israel, before it temporarily disintegrated so is the Body of Christ divided into two these last days.
SINGING HEART (10/15/11)
I have a song in my heart for Thee, even when I’ve just finished sinning. Your song plays for me. I run to you when I’m done getting dirty. I ask for your forgiveness & rejoin the angel chorus: Holy, holy we adore thee God of ….
ADULTERY & OTHER MADNESS (10/15/11)
How sad to desire then have the forbidden fruit; from someone else’s tree, to eat unripe fruit--children & youth. Some adults are sour, green & tart. Leave them also unplucked. Why do we exploit the love of others, glue & tear our bodies to so many others...so many times? Jesus the Groom waits for us to come back?
I’m burning in shame
at my adulterous Church, says Jesus.
Once again he blesses us, but punishments must come!
We set fire to the hearts of many. Will we escape from charred remains? No, we wear the scars, from burned flesh.
Is any creature spared destruction from thoughtless humans? Where is their family & safety now? Where are mommy & daddy? Why aren’t we together? Where is our familiar nest?
Keep your flame inside the fireplace where it is safe. Harness it for the good of all. Give warmth to children & pets. Throw water on burning betrayal. Love your spouse--for God’s sake.
